File Installation Key Matlab R2011a 134

File Installation Key Matlab R2011a 134

Matlab is a software package for numerical computing, data analysis, and visualization. It is widely used by engineers, scientists, and students. To install and activate Matlab R2011a on your computer, you need a file installation key and a license file. In this article, we will explain what these items are and how to get them.

What is a file installation key?

A file installation key (FIK) is a code that identifies the products you can install. It is a 16-digit number that looks like this: 12345-67890-12345-67890. You need to enter this code during the installation process to proceed. The FIK is different for each release of Matlab and each license type.

What is a license file?

A license file is a text file that activates the installation, identifying which products you can run. It contains information such as your license number, expiration date, and host ID. You need to specify the path to this file during the activation process to complete it. The license file is different for each computer you install Matlab on.

How to get a file installation key and a license file?

If you have an individual license, you can get your FIK and license file from the License Center at the MathWorks website. You need to sign in to your MathWorks Account and click the license you want to use. Go to the Install and Activate tab and follow the instructions there. You can either download the license file or have it emailed to you. You can also view your FIK on the same page.

If you have a network license, you need to contact the administrator of your license to get your FIK and license file. The administrator can retrieve them from the License Center at the MathWorks website. The administrator can also provide you with the details of the license server that you need to connect to during the activation process.

How to install and activate Matlab R2011a without an internet connection?

If you do not have an internet connection on the computer where you want to install Matlab R2011a, you can follow these steps:

  • Download the product installer and product files from another computer that has an internet connection. You can use the procedure in Download Products Without Installing to do this. Make sure you move the installation files along with the FIK and license file to the target computer.

  • Start the installer by running setup.exe (Windows), install (Linux), or InstallForMacOSX (Mac) from the DVD or folder where you copied the installation files.

  • Choose to install without using the internet and accept the license agreement.

  • Specify the FIK when prompted.

  • Choose the installation type: typical or custom. A typical installation installs all products associated with your license. A custom installation lets you select which products to install.

  • Specify the installation folder. Make sure you have enough disk space and write permission for that folder.

  • If you chose a custom installation, specify which products to install and which installation options to enable.

  • Confirm your choices and begin copying files. The installer will copy the product files to your hard drive and create shortcuts for launching Matlab.

  • Complete the installation and exit the installer.

  • Activate your installation by running activate_matlab.exe (Windows), activate_matlab (Linux), or Activate.app (Mac) from the bin folder of your Matlab installation.

  • Specify the path to the license file when prompted.

  • If you have a network license, specify the name or IP address of the license server when prompted.

  • Complete the activation and start using Matlab.
